Fondée en 2019, par le collectionneur Alioune Thiam et Khady Thiam, La Galerie de Mon Père propose un riche choix d’œuvres d’arts plastiques modernes et contemporaines ainsi que de l’art sculptural africain traditionnel. La Galerie de Mon Père voudrait au travers de cet espace faire vivre sa collection, partager, transmettre, échanger et ainsi faire connaître une partie de ce riche patrimoine dédié à l’art africain. La Galerie de Mon Père est un héritage, une transmission, une passion, une histoire de famille partagée.

Seyni Awa Camara et Gabrielle Sissoko
L’exposition « Dialogues Sculptés, Couleurs Éternelles » vous propose un dialogue artistique inédit entre Seyni Awa Camara et Gabrielle Sissoko, deux créatrices reliées par la Casamance, terre natale de Seyni et région d’adoption de Gabrielle. À travers cette rencontre, la terre et l’éther s’entrelacent pour offrir une vision complémentaire de la nature. Les sculptures monumentales de Seyni, enracinées dans des mythes ancestraux, incarnent la force brute et protectrice de la terre, tandis que les peintures vibrantes de Gabrielle célèbrent la fluidité et la légèreté des éléments naturels. Cette exposition immersive invite le visiteur à un voyage sensoriel, à la fois poétique et réflexif, au cœur de la relation entre l’humanité et l’environnement. Une ode à la résilience et au cycle de la vie, une expérience qui réconcilie ancrage et légèreté, art et nature.
The “Sculpted Dialogues, Eternal Colors” exhibition offers an unprecedented artistic dialogue between Seyni Awa Camara and Gabrielle Sissoko, two creators connected by Casamance, Seyni’s native land and Gabrielle’s adopted land. Throughout this encounter, earth and ether intertwine and offer a complementary vision of nature. Seyni’s monumental sculptures, rooted in ancestral myths, embody the raw and protective force of the earth, while Gabrielle’s vibrant paintings celebrate the fluidity and lightness of natural elements. This immersive exhibition invites the public to a sensory journey, both poetic and reflective, that explores the heart of the relationship between humanity and the environment. It is an ode to resilience and the cycle of life, an experience that reconciles anchoring and delicacy, art and nature.

Omar Katta Diallo, 1946-2018
Oumar Katta Diallo (1946-2018) fait partie des premières générations d’artistes sénégalais formées à l’Ecole des Arts du Sénégal. Il y suivit les enseignements classiques du maître Iba Ndiaye de 1960 à 1967 avant de se retrouver dans les ateliers libres de Pierre Lods qui va assurer son mentorat.
Oumar Katta Diallo sera temporairement enseignant d’art plastique avant de se consacrer à sa carrière avec une première exposition en 1969. Il exposera par la suite en Afrique, en Europe et aux Etats-Unis. Diallo figure dans plusieurs collections publiques et privées avec sa signature singulière malgré la diversité de ses approches stylistiques. Cette rétrospective présentera une quarantaine de ses toiles et cartons.
Oumar Katta Diallo (1946-2018) is part of the first generations of Senegalese artists trained at the Senegal School of Arts, where he studied the classical teachings of master Iba Ndiaye from 1960 to 1967 before attending the free workshops of Pierre Lods, who became his mentor.
Oumar Katta Diallo taught plastic arts before devoting himself to his career with a first exhibition in 1969. He will subsequently exhibit in Africa, Europe, and the United States. Diallo appears in several public and private collections with his singular signature, despite the diversity of his stylistic approaches. This retrospective will present around forty of his paintings and cards.
