Depuis 1996, la Galerie Arte expose des artistes confirmés et également de jeunes artistes en devenir. Abibi avait déjà participé à une exposition collective à Arte en 2022 lors de l’exposition « Mali au pluriel » et, se distinguant grâce à son talent, Joëlle le Bussy l’invite aujourd’hui à exposer en solo. Née à Bamako en 1998, Abibi est la fille d’un décorateur et calligraphe de métier qui lui a transmis le goût du dessin et de la peinture. Elle est diplômée en 2020 du Conservatoire des Arts et Métiers multimédia de Bamako.
La démarche artistique d’Abibi est ancrée dans l’identité et la tradition africaine revue à travers son imaginaire romantique et son rendu figuratif. Le thème de cette exposition explore des aspects de l’identité des peuples de la vallée de l’Omo et du Congo ; elle y magnifie leur caractère esthétique avec cette candeur illustrative qui la caractérise si bien.
Since 1996, Galerie Arte has exhibited established artists as well as young emerging artists. Abibi Yaye Keita participated in a group exhibition at Arte in 2022 during the “Mali in the plural” exhibition and distinguished herself with her talent. Joëlle le Bussy has now invited her back for a solo exhibition. Born in Bamako in 1998, Abibi Yaye Keita is the daughter of a decorator and calligrapher by trade who gave her a love for drawing and painting. She graduated from the Bamako Conservatory of Multimedia Arts and Crafts in 2020.
Abibi’s artistic approach is rooted in African identity and tradition, revisited through her romantic imagination and figurative rendering. The exhibition explores aspects of the identity of the peoples of the Omo Valley and the Congo, through which she magnifies their aesthetic character with the illustrative candor that characterizes her so well.
